Wittenburg City Brewery

The brewery grew out of a hobby that a group of friends had been pursuing for several years. Now, under the brand name ‘De Jonkheer’, the city brewery markets a wide range of its own home-brewed beers. The beer is brewed at its own premises at Markt 7 in the centre of Zevenaar. In the tasting room, you can sample these delicious beers over lunch, drinks or dinner.

Sometime at the start of this century, a group of friends from Zevenaar came up with the idea of brewing their own beer. It was a learning process of trial and error, surprises and disappointments. But practice makes perfect. Gradually, interest grew in the brews produced by these pioneers of ‘De Nieuwe Lelie’, so they decided to take it to a larger scale. With great success! The ‘Jonkheer’ beers owe their name to the ‘Sevenaer’ estate, where our beer was further developed and brewed in the years that followed. They are now brewed at our own premises at Markt 7 in the centre of Zevenaar.
